Life at Brandon Care

About Sheridan House

Sheridan House is a luxury care home with a warm and homely ambience, offering stunning views of the wonderful Exmouth seafront, over the bay towards Dawlish Warren and in the distance Hope’s Nose. The location is perfect for watching all of the activity along the sea front, the ships passing by and the evening sunsets.

The Property

Sheridan House was purpose built in 2012 for use as a residential care home. With 24 bedrooms available for letting, spread over four floors.

We have many communal areas of the home, starting with the day room which is located on the ground floor with access directly into the garden; the day room is the heart of the home with lots of chatting, laughter, and music. The day room offers a sociable space for groups to gather for our activities and events.

The dining room, a key feature within the home, is also located on the ground floor with access to the garden, with the kitchen alongside you can see our chefs at work preparing the daily menus; we aim for all mealtimes to be a sociable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Our team of passionate and well-trained chefs prepare meals which are freshly made onsite using quality seasonal ingredients.

If preferred, then we also offer room service allowing residents to enjoy meals in their own rooms or, in fact, invite friends and family to join them for meal times.

The Gardens

The garden at Sheridan is designed to offer a calming and peaceful environment where residents can enjoy being outdoors taking in the wonderful sea air.

The garden is south westerly facing and receives the best of the sunshine throughout the day, whilst also making the most of the beautiful coastal views on offer. The garden has been designed with many different areas of interest including a fully stocked herb and vegetable garden, the rockery with bespoke water fetcher and wild bird feeding area. We believe the garden is one of the most important parts of the home and the building has been designed to offer seamless transition from inside to out so that all residents can make use of the garden as they please.

During the summer months, as the weather allows, we like to extend the dining room into the garden offering residents the opportunity to dine alfresco. We also like to hold summertime barbecues where residents can invite their friends and families to join them in the garden while our chef prepares beautiful food on the barbecue.

The Accommodation

All rooms have large windows providing plenty of light and wonderful views. The two ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the gardens. The 14 rear facing rooms offer the sea views while the remaining rooms have pleasant views onto the avenues. The home has a centrally located staircase and a spacious passenger lift.

Each bedroom is equipped with its own TV, a personal phone line with handset, an electronically adjustable bed with a comfortable and supportive mattress, a built-in wardrobe and plenty of cupboard space and at least two relaxing chairs with a coffee table. Each room has its own en-suite shower room.

Community

We are proud of the communities within our homes. There are many celebrations, activities and events taking place. So that we can share these with family and friends we run a Facebook page for each of the homes, where we post pictures and videos. The pages act as a blog of daily events within the homes.
