Hillside House has been fully renovated and architecturally designed for use as a care home with 14 bedrooms available for letting, Seven on the ground floor and seven on the first floor.

We have many communal areas of the home, starting with the day room.  The day room is accessed along a walkway with views and access into the beautiful courtyard garden, the day room is the heart of the home with lots of chatting, laughter, and music. The day room offers a sociable space for groups to gather for our activities and events.

There are also several areas on first floor landings that provide intimate seating areas perfect for enjoying a light refreshment while appreciating the fine views.

The dining room, a key feature within the home, is located centrally within the building on the ground floor, with the kitchen alongside you can see our chefs at work preparing daily menus; we aim for all mealtimes to be a sociable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The Gardens

We are very proud of the gardens we keep at Hillside House. Being set within our own 18acres of land on the edge of the beautiful Aylesbeare Common we have many different areas of outside space and gardens to enjoy. From our tranquil courtyard garden to the grass paddocks for the horses and alpacas.

Accessed from within the home we have a tranquil courtyard garden which catches the best of the sunshine throughout the day, it has raised flowerbeds and pots offering a wide variety of colourful flowers and plants and a relaxing burble of water from the sculptured water feature.

Surrounding the home, we have various areas of well planted beds and pots with a wide variety of shrubs, flowers and plants offering plenty of colour and interest. Viewed from the day room we have a large vegetable garden and green house, producing some fresh vegetables which the chefs are keen to include in their cooking for all to enjoy.  Around the rear of the home, we have a large level deck area showing the views across the grounds towards Sidmouth.

In the paddocks at the rear of the home we have a variety of animals, four horses, two Shetland ponies, a herd of alpacas, two golden guernsey goats and a flock of chickens and ducks.
