FAQs

Ask Us a Question

Below you will find the answers to our most frequently asked questions about our services. If you are still unable to find an answer to your question then please contact us on 01395 267581 and we will do all we can to help.

If I come to live in a Brandon Care home, will I be able to bring my own furniture?

Yes, you can bring your own furniture. Just as if you were down-sizing into a smaller apartment you can choose which items of furniture, pictures and ornaments are special to you.

Will I be able to come and go as I please and will this also apply to my visitors?

Yes of course, you will be able to live in the same way as you did before moving in. Any visitors will be made welcome at any time of the day/night. If you are going out, we would just ask that you let us know and if possible, give an idea of when you might be coming back.

Will I be able to have my own telephone in my room?

A telephone is provided in each room. UK mobile and landline calls are free however there may be a small charge passed on should you wish to call abroad. There is also free WiFi internet coverage throughout the homes.

Does my room receive Sky TV?

We provide a digital TV for your use which receives a number of Freeview channels. If you wish to receive Sky you would have to contact Sky direct at your own cost.

What happens if I become ill?

If the illness is considered minor, you will be cared for by our own staff. In the event of a more serious illness, your doctor may suggest you go into hospital for treatment or may involve the district nurses with your care. Only if we are unable to meet your needs safely or effectively would you need to consider moving into a nursing home, this would be fully discussed with you at the time.

How often will the fees increase?

We review our fee structure on an annual basis but do not always find the need to increase the fees to our residents. If we do have to increase your fees we will write to you stating the reasons behind the increase such as increasing staff wages, inflationary rises etc. We will then be happy to discuss any element of this with you.
